We might be biased, but we think podcasts are pretty important for maintaining sobriety. There’s a saying in recovery circles, “Connection is the opposite of addiction,” and podcasts are a great way to feel connected with others who are also navigating the murky waters of recovery.
With this in mind, we’ve created a list of The Best Sobriety Podcasts for 2023. Spoiler alert, yes, we did put our name on this list. Zero shame!

Another absolute legend for her contribution to helping people find freedom from alcohol use, Annie Grace hosts This Naked Mind Podcast, a follow-up from her best-selling book, This Naked Mind. Among the many things Annie does really well, she breaks down the nitty-gritty about how our bodies process this terrible substance, including addressing straightforward and eye-opening aspects like why alcohol gives you so much anxiety.
Recovery Elevator
Recovery Elevator is another highly popular podcast for sobriety, but it’s also much more than that. Recovery Elevator also offers listeners a way to connect with other like-minded people in the sober-verse through a private online unsearchable community known as Café RE. Perfect for those looking for greater accountability, this membership-based program is a mixture of education, support groups, plus live meet-ups and retreat opportunities.
The Happy Sober Podcast
The Happy Sober Podcast is hosted by legendary ex-drinker, author, and sobriety pioneer, Craig Beck. His book “Alcohol Lied to Me” has been key in helping literally thousands upon thousands of people achieve long-term sobriety, myself included.
Over The Influence
Dubbed as one of the fastest-growing podcasts in the world, Over The Influence is an upbeat and lively show hosted by BBC broadcast journalist, Sharon Hartley, and Guinness World Record holder, Freddie Bennett. Brought to you from the UK, they proudly focus on all the benefits of going alcohol-free, and they’ve interviewed some of the sober leaders in the industry, including the aforementioned Craig Beck.
The Bubble Hour
The Bubble Hour is presented by Jean McCarthy, author, blogger, and podcaster. Jean’s been writing about her experience since her first day going alcohol-free on her blog, Unpickled. Joining The Bubble Hour as a co-host in 2013, she took it over as the main producer in 2016, and she’s since grown into a major force in the recovery space, Her show is light-hearted, sincere, and massively inspirational.
Soberful
Veronica Valli and Chip Somers host Soberful, an informative podcast on living alcohol free, getting sober and long term recovery. Between them Veronica and Chip have over 50 years of sober living. Each episode of Soberful covers one major topic. the 64-year-old former drug addict and ex-offender Chip, runs a charity providing treatment for alcohol and substance misuse, and advises the government on drug rehabilitation. Veronica is qualified as a Psychotherapist and has an inspirational story of long term recovery. There is no shortage of experience in this team.
That Sober Guy Podcast
That Sober Guy Podcast is hosted by Shane Ramers. After overcoming his battle with addiction, Shane started a journey leading to the podcast as it stands today which offers discussions on personal experience in addiction and recovery with co-host Seth Manter. Shane’s varied approach and openness is refreshing and the content is both entertaining and informative. Shane hosts guests from many and varied professions and walks of life to provide their experience and input.
