EP 174: Suicide Prevention - Positive Recovery with Corinna

Positive Recovery with Corinna Ep11 Suicide Prevention
For many of us suicidal thoughts occur at sometime in our lives. Do we really want to be dead or do we just want to escape how we are feeling in that moment. Most suicidal thoughts come from a place of loneliness and hopelessness. This really is a time when we need to play it forwards. When we need to plan ahead and not stay in the moment. It is important to talk and equally important for others to listen. In this podcast I talk about safety plans, reaching out, hope boxes and apps to help you stay alive and support people who are worried or concerned about someone ending their life. If you are actively suicidal and cannot keep yourself safe then please call the emergency services.
Apps mentioned in this podcast are:
Stay Alive (UK)
Hopebox
NotOk (for teens)
I Am Sober
You can also contact the Samaritans on 116 123 in the UK or search for your countries Suicide support line on the internet.
